ADVOCACY

Speak out on behalf of the pediatricians, children and families of Tennessee! Our legislative advocacy is vital in helping to promote improvements in child injury prevention, environmental health, school-related issues, and other interests of Tennessee's children and our members.

NETWORKING

Have a special passion about an issue? You're not alone! Engage with other pediatricians who share your interests. We bring young physicians together to:

  • Develop professional networks with colleagues from across the state.
  • Connect with mentors.
  • Share best practices and increase knowledge.
  • Gain insights into management issues to strengthen your practice.

EDUCATION

Your training didn’t end with your residency! Participate in trainings focused on important areas of your practice, many of which provide CME credits.

  • Participate in and learn from The Medical Home Implementation Project (MHIP), which aligns with the Healthy People 20/20 goal of developing family-centered, culturally-competent, comprehensive, and coordinated systems of services for all children and youth with special health needs, in every community.
  • Screening Tools and Referral Training (START) focuses on early identification of children with developmental disabilities or behavioral problems.
  • Behaviorally Effective Healthcare in Pediatrics (BEHIP) training helps you identify the behavioral health and substance abuse concerns affecting an ever-increasing number of the children you care for in your practice.
  • EPSDT/TENNderCare and coding education for you and your staff includes regional and office-based trainings and chart reviews.
  • Join us for the Tennessee State Pediatric Conference – focus on adolescence – on September 20, 2014. Earn 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
  • Improve your practice by taking advantage of the Pediatric Practice Managers’ Network Conference (PMN). Held every June in, the PMN provides CEU hours for practice managers and coding and office staff.

PEDIATRIC COUNCIL

Help us improve quality of care for children! TNAAP's Pediatric Council meets with payers to create better working relationships between pediatricians and health plans by:

  • Ensuring appropriate coverage for pediatric services.
  • Negotiating changes in coverage and reimbursement policies.

PUBLICATIONS AND RESOURCES

Be in the know! Members receive informative mailings and alerts about developments affecting Tennessee's children and your practice.
